06 / Leave less for tomorrow
Before Bed
Leave one small thing ready for tomorrow. The last ritual of the day can be the simplest.
What would make tomorrow easier?
This moment is about setting up, then stopping. Choose a quick reset or prepare the tools for a slower first cup. The making and drinking can wait until morning.
Prepare the tools tonight. Leave the first cup for the morning.
Ready does not have to mean brewed.
Clean, dry tools
Leave a cup and spoon on a clear surface. If tomorrow includes matcha, dry the bowl and whisk before putting them ready.
Ingredients stored properly
Keep powders and tea closed, following their labels. Leave milk, cut fruit and other chilled ingredients in the fridge.
One short note
Write the first drink and breakfast choice somewhere easy to see. Put the note down once the decision is made.
Make this moment yours.
01 / Before Bed
A two-minute reset
The short version / No brewing
Use this version when the evening is already full. One small decision is enough; you do not need to arrange an entire breakfast before bed.
Have to hand
A clean cup, a spoon if needed and a place to leave a brief note.
What to do
- Clear just enough space for the cup. Wash and dry anything you will need first thing, then put it somewhere easy to reach.
- Decide on tomorrow's drink and something simple to eat. Leave a short note if it helps, with all ingredients still in their proper storage places.
- Check that opened packs are closed and chilled food is back in the fridge. Leave the preparation there and return to your usual end-of-day routine.
Keep the promise small
The aim is one fewer decision tomorrow. If all you do is leave a clean cup ready, that is a complete version of this ritual.
02 / Before Bed
Prepare a slower first cup
A little more preparation / Ingredients stay stored
When you would like an unhurried morning cup, organise the tools tonight. Keep the drink itself for the time you will enjoy it.
Have to hand
The clean tools for your chosen preparation, a closed pack and a note of the maker's directions.
What to do
- Choose tomorrow's version: a familiar tea, matcha with water or a milk-based drink. Read the preparation directions now so you know what equipment is needed.
- Set out the dry cup and tools. Keep matcha sealed and leave refrigerated ingredients where they belong; do not put milk out overnight or pre-mix the drink on the counter.
- Write a simple breakfast pairing beside the plan, then stop arranging. Tomorrow, follow the Morning guide and make the drink fresh when you are ready for it.
For tomorrow, not tonight
The matcha link below is for planning the next morning. You do not need another cup before bed to complete this page.
Finish with less to do.
Use the checklist as a gentle reminder, not a score to achieve. Tick only what you have done and leave anything unnecessary. Your usual closing routine can take over from here.
