Let the day
come to a close.
Leave tomorrow's first task ready, put today's work aside and make space for a quieter evening. A simple ending can be easier to return to night after night.
Begin before your head reaches the pillow.
Preparing for rest can begin with an ordinary household moment: closing a notebook, clearing a place for breakfast or deciding that work is finished. Choose a small sequence that fits your evening. There is no need to turn the last hour of the day into another ambitious project.
Small practices.
まずはここから。.
Give the evening a familiar rhythm
Where your schedule allows, aim for similar times to go to bed and get up. A regular pattern gives the end of the day a clearer shape, including on days away from work.
Look at the later cups
Tea, coffee and some blended drinks contain caffeine, which can interfere with sleep. Check your afternoon and evening choices, including products whose names focus on herbs, fruit or flavour.
Make a little room away from screens
Try reading, quiet music or another activity you enjoy as bedtime approaches. A darker, quieter and comfortably cool sleeping space can also help make the room more suitable for rest.
Leave one decision made for tomorrow.
Choose a small preparation that has an obvious finish: set out a clean cup, choose a breakfast bowl or pack the things you need to take with you. Store food as its instructions require. Stop when that one task is done; tomorrow does not need to be entirely organised tonight.
Put the unfinished thoughts somewhere
Write down the task you need to remember tomorrow. Close the notebook and leave it outside the sleeping space if that helps you put work aside.
Prepare only what is useful
Set out the cup and spoon for morning, or choose something to read. Keep the sequence short enough that it still feels possible after a tiring day.
Let the final choice be simple
If you want a drink, choose a familiar caffeine-free option and follow its directions. A warm cup is optional; reading quietly can be the whole ritual.
Choose with context.
For an evening blend
Read the ingredient list and caffeine information. Tea can be included in a fruit or botanical blend; the front of the pack may not make that clear.
For the preparation
Use one cup and the tools you need. Finish the washing up while you are still in the kitchen so the drink does not leave another task behind.
For an unsettled night
Let the routine remain flexible. You do not need to earn sleep by completing every step, or judge the whole evening by how quickly you fall asleep.
No cup can promise sleep.
These ideas support an everyday routine; they do not treat insomnia. If sleep difficulties persist or regularly affect your day, ask a healthcare professional for help.
